Striking Debris

Striking Debris

Today I had a delivery that would be made in three parts, the first two things I would do is deliver material to two different job sites. Afterwards; I would travel past my brother’s house to pick up some material from one of our suppliers. On the return trip I would notice an object. I was quickly approaching the object lying on the highway. There was no way to avoid from striking the object, at the last second I noticed that the object was chrome plated, it was a fairly small piece of metal laying in the middle of the highway right in the path of my tires. The object looked like a door handle or a crank handle of some sort, it was small but mighty, some truck driver’s call objects like that alligators and I’ll tell you why. When you see something like this it can bite, and I held on tight as I drove straight over the object, and this object punctured the center tread of my steering tire. I heard a loud bang as the object was thrown up to the chassis of my truck not once but twice. Dirt clouds floated around the areas where the truck was struck. I watched in my mirrors to see where the object went, I never saw the object after first noticing that I was about to strike something, I only heard the racket or noise that was made as I passed over the object. I have to wonder about the work and will of GOD when things like this happen, as I pulled over on the side of the highway only several hundred feet from being in front of my brother’s house. I got out of the truck and inspected to see what if any damage there was and indeed the left front steering tire was leaking air. After assessing the damage I decided to pull the truck off of the road in front of my brother’s house. The state had moved the highway further away from the houses and the old road bed is used as a part of his driveway and made a perfect place for me to pull the truck off of the highway where the mechanic could come out and safely change the leaky tire.

What a fortuitist opportunity;

With the truck parked in front of my brother’s house my sister in law was home with their daughter, a niece I haven’t seen in several years. We were able to talk after I walked back to find that piece of debris that landed me in this situation. I explained some of the things that had happened and where I am at now. She was a bit shocked and surprised to know the things that were happening, and after hearing about why I haven’t been around now understands that my brother who is now wise to what my mother had done to me is said to be told to call me. I will wait to see what will happen out of this situation, it would be nice to hear what I need to hear from him. My sister in law she knows what to say, maybe this bad event will make for a good day? I can only hope.

hey Gary...wow...am so glad I did not miss this blog...what an astonishing way with words you have in describing the unfolding events

and to be so near your brother's house...the hand of Love nudging everyday events?

who knows...but I do hope your brother calls and that you hear what you need to hear from him

I will hold you in my *prayers* for your safety and for a heart-warming solution to your life's unfolding events

blessings upon you, Gary.

btw: I have a sister who also would do me a kind service should she ever "speak" what needs to be said to me...but my blessings don't seem to fall in that direction...it won't happen...and I'm okay with that...even though I hold the realization in the deep part of my heart...

but I have been given so many other blessings in my life, I can well "afford" to let this one lay idle

(((Gary)))

take care, buddy.
Maggie
